Catherine has had an avid interest in construction and renovation since her very first assignment at the tender age of 6 when her Dad asked her to countersink all the finishing nails in the family’s new “rec room” – do you remember that wood panelling? How many other grandmothers do you know who’d rather go shopping for a compressor than a Cuisinart?
Before being licensed as a full-time realtor, Catherine ran her own business for 15 years as a consultant to the private sector, governments and non-profit organizations. The same strong work ethic, drive and self-discipline that helped her run a successful consulting business have ensured her success at real estate.
Catherine has earned a solid reputation as a knowledgeable and savvy realtor with a stellar sales track record, earning Royal LePage’s coveted President’s Emerald Award (2019), placing her in the top 2% of agents in Canada for Royal Lepage and the top 40 agents in Ottawa. She’s also received The Lifetime Achievement Award of Excellence, Royal LePage’s highest award in recognition of exceptional, long-term and consistent selling achievement.
A voracious reader, Catherine is a strong believer in lifelong learning and is constantly improving her knowledge and skills. Catherine also has a Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation (SRES) – in-depth training to help her represent seniors more effectively. She’s also a certified e-agent, someone who knows how to exploit what the Internet and other technologies have to offer to make sure your home is seen by the greatest number of buyers possible and to be available to answer inquiries as “swiftly” as possible. Catherine has also completed specialized certifications in negotiating skills and marketing luxury properties. Catherine prides herself on excellent working relationships with the best professionals and is happy to recommend excellent lawyers, mortgage professionals, building inspectors, septic inspectors, electricians, contractors and other specialized tradespeople.
Catherine is bilingual in English and French and holds the highest fluency rating possible (E/E/E) from the Canadian federal government.
Originally from Toronto, her family made the smart move to the Ottawa area over 20 years ago and chose the west end of Ottawa as the perfect spot to lay down new roots. She later moved to rural Kanata where, along with her husband, she bought an unfinished home on 4 acres. Catherine acted as the General Contractor and worked with over 48 tradespeople in just 6 weeks to complete the home. She learned a lot about home construction during the process, made great contacts with excellent tradespeople and is convinced this was the best project management experience she’s ever had!
